MANILA, Philippines – The October 2024 Optometry Licensure Exam (OLE) results, including the complete list of board passers, top 10 examinees, and overall performance of schools, are released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board of Optometry in three (3) working days after the last day of exams.
The Licensure Exam for Optometrists was conducted on October 2-4, 2024 (Written) and October 7-10 (Practical) at testing centers located in Metro Manila. The licensure examinations are administered by the PRC Board of Optometry headed by its Chairman, Dr. Irene Christine C. Peliño, and its members, Dr. Bernardita A. Garcia, Dr. Mario T. Flores, Jr. and Dr. Christine S. Rodriguez.

Release of Results
According to PRC Resolution No. 1728 series of 2023, the October 2024 Optometrist Licensure exam results will be released on October 15, 2024.
However, the release of OLE results may vary, occurring earlier or later than the estimated date. During the October 2023 exams, results were released after three (3) working days. Schedule of Registration
The schedule for online appointments to obtain the new Licensed Optometrists’ Professional ID and Certificate of Registration will be held on these date(s):

PRC advises online registration through the official website at https://online.prc.gov.ph/. Follow these steps for online registration and ensure you have the following requirements ready:
- Notice of Admission (NOA) – for identification purposes only
- Completed Oath Form (Panunumpa ng Propesyonal)
- Two (2) passport-sized ID photos on a white background, each with a complete name tag
- Two (2) sets of documentary stamps
- One (1) short brown envelope
PRC emphasizes that successful examinees must complete their registration in person and sign the Roster of Registered Professionals.
Verification of Ratings
The Optometrist board exam ratings and test results will be verified online a few days after posting them.
Successful candidates can visit the official PRC website and utilize the Verification Page to check their pass rate in the board examination.
As outlined, a passing candidate should provide the exam name, examination date, application number, first name, last name, and birthdate.
Oath-Taking
All passers interested in attending the face-to-face mass oath-taking shall register no later than 12:00 PM of the day before the date of oath-taking. Register at http://online.prc.gov.ph to confirm attendance.
Those who cannot attend the mass oath-taking may opt to attend the virtual oath-taking or request a special oath-taking. Once confirmed, the schedule will be posted on the official website.
Passers may schedule an online appointment at http://online.prc.gov.ph and select “e-OATH” as the transaction.
The online registration will close five (5) calendar days before the online oathtaking day. Inductees must print the “OATH OF PROFESSIONAL” form, downloadable from the PRC official website under PRC Online Services.
After the oath-taking, the inductees shall proceed with the Initial Registration by securing the online appointment at http://online.prc.gov.ph.
Examination Coverage
The board exam for Optometrist (written) covered the following topics:
- Ocular Pharmacology 10%;
- Ocular/Visual Biology 10%;
- Primary Care and Refraction 15%;
- Practical, Theoretical, and Ophthalmic Dispensing, including Contact Lenses 15%;
- Ocular Diseases and Ocular Emergencies 10%;
- Jurisprudence, Ethics and Practice Management 10%;
- Physiological Optics, Binocular Vision and Perception 15%;
- Clinical Optometry and Specialty Areas in Optometry 15%.
Meanwhile, practical tests include objective examination, subjective examination, ophthalmic lens laboratory, clinical optometry, and contact lens practice.
Previous Exams
Optometry is one of the programs with fewer examinees being administered by the PRC.
In the previous exams held in October 2023, 153 out of 226 examinees passed. Southwestern University was the top-performing school, with an 88.89% overall passing rate.
